Living Forward by Lisa Zoll
Well Trained To Help
I graduated with my Master of Social Work from Temple University, Harrisburg in 2003. My experience includes 12 years as a clinical psychiatric specialist at the Penn State University Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, working in the adult partial hospitalization program and psychiatric outpatient clinic.
Teaching Loss and Grief
In 2008, I began teaching Loss & Grief as an adjunct instructor in the program at Temple University, Harrisburg. In 2014 I was appointed as a full-time faculty instructor where I taught courses across the curriculum. I founded Grief Relief, LLC in 2019 and specialize in helping clients challenged by loss, grief, and trauma.
Personal Loss
I had some significant losses that affected my life. I didn’t know much about grief and the impact it can have on the griever. I did a lot of work with a woman whose children died at the hands of her ex-husband. Forever grief is what brought me to try to look at the dual reality of grief and trauma.
Looking Back and Living Forward
The dual reality is that, with grief especially and with trauma, we can’t help but to look back on what has happened and what we have lost AND at the same time, we continue to live. So, looking back, living forward became our mission statement for the clients we work with at the practice.
